Some Celtic fans have been reacting to Rangers manager Steven Gerrard’s interview after his side crashed out of the Scottish Cup to Hearts yesterday.
The competition has now opened up beautifully for Celtic. With our nearest rivals knocked out, the Hoops are now heavy favourites to complete a domestic treble for the fourth consecutive season.

Gerrard’s interview after the loss, their second to Hearts since the winter break, showed a despondent Ibrox boss who clearly didn’t know what to say after the dreadful performance and defeat.
However, sections of the Celtic support were quick to strike on Twitter as the interview was published by Premier Sports’ account.

It’s all set up for Celtic
Today we face St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, and the players must compose themselves ahead of it.
There’s a genuine opportunity here to put Copenhagen behind us and stroll into yet another Scottish Cup semi-final and yet another Hampden outing. If we beat Tommy Wright’s men today, Celtic will visit the national stadium for the 15th time out of a possible 15. That would be incredible going from the Hoops.
However, Copenhagen is surely the rocket we need to know that we shouldn’t go overboard with confidence. We were all extremely positive and rightly so heading into that one, but we shot ourselves in the foot.
The fact their goals came from basic errors is proof enough that a composed, controlled performance should do the trick this afternoon. St Johnstone aren’t of the same quality as Copenhagen, but give them chances and they’ll still punish you. Just ask Rangers.

Rangers going out has seriously boosted our chances of a quadruple treble success. Not because we fear them, but because they’re capable of giving us a better game in Scotland than anyone else. There’s no point pretending otherwise. That’s why so many of us are buzzing to see them go out – it gives us a huge opportunity to make further history.
Celtic will be heavy favourites in every match we play in the Scottish Cup. Only complacency can stop us at this stage, and with Gerrard sounding like a broken man, it would be ideal if we could reaffirm our dominance with another incredible treble.
How does Rangers’ Scottish Cup exit affect us in your eyes? Were you not bothered or do you believe it makes things simpler for us? Is today a formality or does Copenhagen prove that nothing in football is guaranteed? Let us know your thoughts on this in the discussion forum below.
