On the club’s official Twitter account, Celtic asked for fans to vote on the Fraser Forster moment that they had celebrated most this season.

They were given four options, two saves against Lazio, his penalty save against Rangers, or ‘other’. After the votes had been counted, the save against Rangers in the Betfred Cup Final was the runaway winner, with 62.8% of the vote.

The save against Lazio might have been more eye-catching, but it is no surprise that the save which fans celebrated the most was the penalty save from Alfredo Morelos.

Hoops fans would always celebrate

That was a save in a cup final against Celtic’s biggest rivals, in a game which the Hoops had been under the cosh in for a long time, of course Hoops fans all over the world were going to celebrate it in style.

It is testament to Forster’s performances this season that the club were able to pick a number of his saves that fans have celebrated most.

That shows just how good a signing that he has been for Celtic. Indeed, it could be argued that he is the best signing that the club have made, when you consider just how important that he has been to the club.

Will he play for Celtic again?

Of course, with the season currently in lockdown, there has to be a question about when we will see Forster play for the Hoops again.

He is at Celtic on loan from Southampton until the end of the season, whenever that may be. Hopefully when football is able to return, Forster can play a part in helping the Hoops when a fourth successive domestic treble.

However, should he have to leave, he should still be remembered as a Celtic hero for what he has achieved with the club this season, it has only added to his legend.
