Celtic captain Scott Brown has come under fire from one of this week’s opponents, Loic Damour of Hearts, as reported by The Edinburgh Evening News.

As quoted by the paper, he said in a bizarre outburst: “I enjoyed the battle, especially with Brown, I think his name is.

“Apparently he is like the king of the league because he can do whatever he wants on the pitch and the referee never says anything.

“He is the referee on the pitch and that is seemingly normal here. I was very frustrated about that so I wanted to let him know we have a referee on the pitch and he (Brown) is not the referee.”

Amusingly, this is despite Brown receiving the first yellow card of last night’s game at Tynecastle, hardly the mark of a player so favoured by officials.

Clearly, the manner of Celtic’s 2-0 victory has upset some of the Hearts players, who at times struggled to cope with the visiting Hoops, playing their high defensive line.

Daniel Stendel’s side are having a horrendous time of it this season and appear to be out to blame everyone but themselves for their current woes.

It really wouldn’t be a surprise to see them relegated this season.

Brown meanwhile, this season, has already won the 20th major honour of his Celtic career. He’s well on his way to another couple of trophies too.

These fans were left amused, or annoyed, by Damour’s comments, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts this evening…
