The news that Neil Lennon’s squad is still picking up injuries despite being in Dubai for rest and recuperation hasn’t gone down well with some Celtic fans.

As reported by The Daily Record, Hatem Abd Elhamed faces another spell on the sidelines after picking up a fresh groin injury, different from the one that kept him out for two months at the tail-end of last year.

The bad news didn’t end there either with it also stated that Mikey Johnston has undergone a thigh scan and is set for a fortnight out of the team too, which takes us into the thick of important fixtures.

Both players have had their fair share of injury problems already this season, with neither able to hold down a regular starting place in Lennon’s starting eleven.

Elhamed has shown he has quality in the Europa League but if we can’t rely on him to be a regular starter then he’ll have a hard time seeing his Celtic career blossom.

Youngster Johnston meanwhile is looking a little injury prone in the early part of his career.

Whether that’s just part of his development as a pacey young winger or something we should be more concerned about is at this stage unknown.

These fans have taken to Twitter this week to share their thoughts on the latest news on the pair…
