Some Celtic fans have reacted strongly to Brendan Rodgers’ comments about a potential move to Arsenal, after speculation he could be in line for the job.

The Mirror have reported that he has been the Gunners’ ‘number one target’ to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates, who left the club following dreadful form in the English Premier League.

In contrast, the former Celtic Park man is doing brilliantly at Leicester, with his stock reaching new highs after guiding the Foxes to second place in the table.

Asked bluntly to rule himself out of a switch to Arsenal, Rodgers instead decided to give a convoluted and complicated answer about his contract length and situation at Leicester (Sky Sports).

It’s all rather reminiscent of what he used to say about his happiness at Celtic.

As we know, he quickly put loyalty to the Bhoys aside when Leicster came calling February, dropping use like a stone as we hunted for a third successive treble.

Neil Lennon thankfully came in and steadied the ship, now improving it, but the whole affair remains a controversial topic amongst the Celtic support.
