Celtic have announced a major new kit deal, that will see Adidas make the strips for the club’s men and women’s teams for the next five years.

The club made the announcement on Celtic’s Twitter account, revealing that the deal will being on the 1st of July 2020, meaning that the Hoops will have the new-look strips available for next season.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell also commented on the deal on the club’s official website.

“Hugely significant”

“This is a hugely significant new partnership for Celtic and our supporters and allows us to look to the future with confidence. To be able to create this fantastic new relationship demonstrates the strength and stability of the Club and the power of our enduring story” Lawwell said.

It will be interesting to find out how much money the Hoops will be making for the deal, perhaps that will come out in due course, but the fact that the Hoops described the deal as ‘magnificent’ makes you think it will be a significant amount.

The announcement unsurprisingly drew the attention of some Celtic fans on social media.

Fans seemed excited about the announcement, and there seems to be a lot who are looking forward to seeing the new strips unveiled. That probably won’t be until the summer.

Despite that, the news that the Hoops have entered into this partnership with Adidas has generated plenty of excitement.
