Celtic fans don’t seem to think the club are to blame over the failed transfer move for David Turnbull. In fact, Hoops fans have reacted pretty philosophically to the news that the 19-year-old midfielder will be staying at Motherwell next season.

The Lanarkshire club released a statement saying that the deal was off following an issue with the teenager’s medical. Turnbull is to go for a knee operation in the coming weeks and could miss up to six months.
So it was a case of so close yet so far for Celtic, but Hoops fans aren’t being too critical of the club. On social media at least.
It seems totally bizarre that Turnbull isn’t going to be signing for the club after all the noise last Friday. Neil Lennon spoke about how he admired the player and Turnbull was actually pictured beside the Northern Irishman wearing the new home kit.

Celtic handled the situation well
And the theme of Celtic being praised for their handling of the situation was carried on by several other fans. Others aren’t against the club making a move for him in the future.

Celtic fans will just be hoping to draw a line under the whole saga. The David Turnbull ordeal makes previous transfer hunts look small-fry. The 19-year-old has been the centre of attention for the past month and will just be looking to get back to playing football.
Hopefully he can get over his injury scare. Celtic, meanwhile, will just be wanting to move on.
