Here are some of the best reactions from social media to the news that Johnston has committed his future to Celtic:

Johnston has been one of Celtic’s most impressive players this season. He started the season in fine form, and was unfortunate to pick up an injury which kept him out of action for a few months.

Will undoubtedly be in manager’s plans for derby

However, he is now back fully fit, and has impressed in his recent appearances off the bench. Will that be enough to get him a start against Rangers on Sunday? That remains to be seen. However, there is no doubt that he will be in Neil Lennon’s plans for the game.

Johnston’s new deal is a sign that things are going well at Celtic. The Hoops are top of the league, and in the last 32 of the Europa League.

However, it is more of a sign that the players believe in what Neil Lennon is trying to do at Celtic. An exciting prospect like Johnston would not commit to Celtic unless he believed in what the manager is doing.

That is for the future though, and for now Johnston will be aiming to a land a regular start in the Hoops first-team. He might not play every week this season. However, in years to come Johnston could be one of the first names on the Celtic team-sheet.
