New Celtic recruit Patryk Klimala will wear the number 11 jersey – the old number of recently departed winger Scott Sinclair.
The Polish forward, who’s signing was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, was revealed as our new no. 11 by a tweet on the Celtic official Twitter feed on Wednesday.
Sinclair wasn’t mentioned in the club’s message, as they continued their use of the hashtag #LetsGetRocking, although that didn’t stop some Celtic fans from pointing out the obvious number succession.
Most of them firmly with their tongue in their cheek.

Klimala should use Sinclair adulation as a motivator
The vast majority, if not all, of those replies are a little tongue in cheek. The Celtic support will always hold an affinity for Sinclair given what he helped to achieve at the club, and how well he carried himself at all times.
Klimala shouldn’t take the replies personally. The Hoops support will hope that he can have every bit as big a say as Sinclair did over the next three years.
But the adulation the support hold for Sinclair should be a nice motivator for Klimala. If he gives his all for the club when he plays, and scores some big goals, he too will be remembered fondly wherever he ends up.
The Polish youngster will never be viewed as a direct replacement for Sinclair. They play in different positions for a start.
But their common possession of the Celtic no. 11 jersey, and the fact they departed and joined the club in the same week, could mean that many will always make some sort of comparison.
Sinclair had a pretty telling contribution on his debut three years ago. Wouldn’t it be great if Klimala could do the same this weekend?
