Some Celtic fans haven’t reacted too well to the news of the club being back in the Europa League.
Neil Lennon’s side exited the Champions League on Tuesday night following a 5-4 aggregate defeat to CFR Cluj. They will now join Europe’s secondary competition and face a final round play-off against either FC Sheriff or AIK Stockholm.
The club took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to update fans on arrangements. A thankless task perhaps, but they may have wished they hadn’t bothered given the replies.

Celtic in the Europa League isn’t going to be pretty
Things may pick up a little for Neil Lennon’s men if they make it to the group stages of the Europa League. There are still some decent teams in that competition as we found out last year.
However, the upcoming tie against either AIK or Sheriff isn’t going to whet the appetite of many. You’ll be lucky to see 30,000 inside the stadium for the home leg next Thursday and that could have pretty bad consequences for the first-team.
The tie won’t be as straightforward as Suduva were last year. Both AIK and Sheriff are better than them. And Celtic are arguably in a worse state. It’ll just be a case of winning the tie and nothing else mattering.
