Celtic managed to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership to 13 points after securing a 2-2 draw away to Livingston.
Rangers failed to get anything at home to Hamilton at Ibrox as Steven Gerrard’s men lost 1-0 at Ibrox. That result coupled with our own allowed us to stretch our advantage even further.
It wasn’t vintage stuff at the Tony Macaroni Arena tonight. Celtic struggled at the back for large spells as Livingston profited on key errors. However, our character was shown in full force to salvage a point when the game looked dead.

Blushes spared but it matters little
There’s no defence for the result tonight. It was a poor performance from the Hoops at the Tony Macaroni Arena, and the 2-2 draw was perhaps a touch flattering given the overall display.
However, who cares? It was a real sign of champions to dig out a draw and extend our advantage at the top of the table. Considering we didn’t deserve a thing, you have to admire the character that was shown once again by this side.
It may go under the radar, but should Rangers win their game in-hand, it’s officially stretched to a four-game turn in order for us to lose the lead in the “title-race”. With only nine games remaining, that seems unthinkable at this stage.
However, on the downside, there is a real concern regarding our displays at the Tony Macaroni. That’s now three consecutive trips to Livingston without managing to win. There’s something about the aggressive nature of Gary Holt’s side that seems to throw us off of our game.
There was a brief stage at 1-0 when we were cruising before Fraser Forster gifted them an equaliser. However, after that it was panic stations for the Hoops. We barely created any clear-cut chances and didn’t manage to cut Livingston open until the death.
That’s something that will need sorted next season when we head back to West Lothian. But that means little now as Celtic take another big step towards nine-in-a-row.
