It was nine years ago today that a famous Celtic moment occurred, a moment which has helped turn a Hoops player into a legend.
That moment is Celtic captain Scott Brownβs famous βBroonyβ celebration at Ibrox. With Celtic 2-1 down to Rangers and reduced to 10 men, the Hoops skipper curled an equaliser into the corner of the net.

The equaliser might have been one thing, but the celebration of the goal is what really sticks out. Brown stood with arms outstretched and just stared at Rangesβ El Hadji Diouf whilst the Hoops fans celebrated in style.
Iconic moment for the player
The moment has become iconic for the player, as every time he has scored a goal he has done the same celebration, even nine years on.
Unsurprisingly, Celtic took to Twitter to mark the anniversary of such a famous moment.
Some Celtic fans then responded to with their thoughts on the celebration. One fan proclaimed it to be βiconicβ, whilst another said they could watch the moment all day long.

Here are some of the best replies from social media to the anniversary of βThe Broonyβ:
Brown was already liked by the Hoop support before that goal, but that moment turned him into a hero.
Has become a legend since celebration
Since then, he has become a Celtic legend, leading the team to eight league titles in a row, with a ninth hopefully on the way.
For some fans though, it may have all started with Brown did βThe Broonyβ. Itβs probably one of the most memorable celebrations that a Celtic player has ever done.
Hopefully we get to see it a few more times before the end of the season.
