The vast majority of Celtic fans would have come away from Parkhead very satisfied after last night’s 3-1 win over Rennes. The comfortable victory saw us make history by topping a European group and getting more than ten points – both for the first time.
It was a terrific evening of entertainment on the pitch as Neil Lennon’s men turned on the style yet again. And the joy was also seemingly mirrored in the stands as the travelling French support made a bit of an impression on the Hoops faithful.
Around 2,500 Rennes fans travelled to Glasgow and they made noise throughout – in what was a dead rubber clash for them. However, some Celtic fans were a little bit turned off by just how friendly relations got between the two groups of supporters, as they took to Twitter to show their disgust.
Officallly announce my retirement from Celtic games after that embarrassment tonight Celtic fans clapping Rennes goal and then a seen a Celtic and Rennes fan swap shirts what have we become

It appears as if the allegation of some Celtic fans cheering Rennes’ goal was true, as another fan made the claim.
All supporters who celebrated the Rennes goal tonight should be banned for life.

One fan took things to the extreme.

But the theme of Celtic fans celebrating the Rennes consolation strike continued.
if you were 1 of the Celtic fans who applauded the Rennes goal last night, make your way immediately to the ticket office & hand your season ticket back. Embarrassing

The reaction wasn’t all negative though
Not all fans were as down on the new friendship that seems to have been formed though. A lot were pleased to see a nice relationship develop at the game, in stark contrast to our two meetings against Lazio.
Rennes fans were amazing they danced and sung their hearts oot, joined in the 67th minute, sung You’ll Never Walk Alone, done The Huddle, best fans I've ever seen at celtic, wishing them a safe journey home, thanks for a lovely atmosphere was a joy to watch 🥰

The Rennes support deserve credit for being so upbeat despite the performances of their side during this Europa League campaign.
Fair play to the Rennes fans, they came in big numbers despite the game being a dead rubber for them and sang the whole game – even started the huddle.
Comfortable performance by Celtic and what a comeback goal for Mikey Johnston.

And they made a real impression with many Celtic supporters.
Rennes fans are the best away fans I’ve saw at Celtic Park! 💚☘️🍀

The Rennes fans were one of the best set of fans to come to Celtic Park in a long time. Even though they have been out of the group for a while now, they still kept singing. When they scored they went mental even though they were 3-1 down and even joined in with the huddle.
