Some Celtic fans react to Europa League draw

Celtic now know the teams they will face in the group stages of the Europa League. The Hoops will face Lazio, Rennes and Cluj.

The big talking point is that the Hoops will once more face Cluj, who knocked Celtic out of the Champions League earlier this season.

A chance for revenge

At least the Hoops will get the chance for a bit of revenge. The tie against Lazio is probably the glamour tie, as the Hoops have never faced the Rome based side before.

Celtic will take on Rennes for the second time this season, as the teams drew 0-0 in a pre-season friendly this season

Unsurprisingly, the draw has been garnering plenty of reaction on social media. The meetings against Cluj have provided the biggest reactions.

One fan said that they ‘just knew’ the Hoops would draw the Romanian side.

It will be interesting to get Celtic manager Neil Lennon’s views on the draw. It will not be an easy group to progress out of.

A tough draw

However, if the Hoops play to the best of their abilities, they do have a chance of making it past Christmas in the competition.

Now would be a good time to bring in some additional players to boost the squad going forward. If the Hoops add some decent players before the transfer window closes, it would give the side a real chance of making progress in the competition.
