Celtic’s Jeremie Frimpong faced arguably his biggest test so far his in fledgling Celtic career on Thursday, when he made his European debut for the Hoops against Copenhagen.
It wasn’t the easiest of games for the right-back, as he struggled at times, mainly in defence, although he did fairly well on the attacking side of things.
However, he did help the Hoops achieve a decent 1-1 draw, and the team look to be favourites going into the second leg on Thursday.
Been superb this season
Despite not having the best of games, you can’t really criticise Frimpong for his performance, as he has for the most part been superb for the Hoops since breaking into the first-team.
It should also be remembered that he is not look back from a knee injury which kept him out of action for a few weeks.
The progress that Frimpong has made can’t be underestimated. When he signed, few would have thought he would be playing for the Hoops in Europe this season.
Indeed, he didn’t make the squad for the group stage of the Europa League. Now he has though, and on Friday he took to social media to give his take on his Celtic European debut.
“The job isn’t done”
“Happy to make my European debut but the job isn’t done yet Parkhead awaits” he said.
