Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic’s Instagram video has gone down as a real hit with the Hoops supporters today.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the centre-back in action. The Croatian-born Bosnian hasn’t featured for Neil Lennon’s side since the 2-0 home win against AIK in Europa League qualifying. That came back in August, with Jozo struggling with an injury ever since.

However, out of the blue today, Simunovic hit out with footage of a very famous moment amongst the Celtic fans. It was his colossal challenge on Kenny Miller in the 5-1 win at Ibrox back in 2017. Jozo posted the video with Titanic music over it, making for fine viewing for his Celtic followers. You can see it yourself by clicking here.
And there’s no denying that Celtic fans loved it too. Taking a glance on social media, here’s a look at some of the reaction from the supporters to the post.

A glorious moment that set the tone on a massive day
Regardless of what you may think of Brendan Rodgers, there were plenty of great moments during his time here. Perhaps not many eclipsed the 5-1 destruction of Rangers on their own back yard, however.
Celtic were 2-0 ahead when Jozo’s tackle on Miller came flying in. It was a statement of superiority, and it had Ibrox absolutely raging. Celtic nearly went 3-0 up seconds later, with the Ibrox side nowhere near Rodgers’ superstars on the day.

Jozo has been a fine player for us since signing for the club under Ronny Deila. However, this is most likely the moment supporters will remember him most for.
That’s not to say there won’t be plenty of other opportunities in the future to stand out. Simunovic will hopefully be over his knock before too long, as he has a big job on his hands to get back into the side.

Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer both occupy the centre-back spots. Getting in ahead of either man is going to be a tough ask, but Simunovic has peace of mind in the fact he’s first reserve when fit.
On his day, there aren’t many better stoppers in the country than Jozo. Here’s hoping we see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
