The Celtic support seem pretty split on the prospect of the club moving for Martin Boyle this month – if a sample of comments on Twitter are anything to go by.
Last night it emerged, via the Scottish Sun and others, that Hoops recruitment chief Nick Hammond had been to Easter Road to watch the Hibernian winger play in his side’s 2-1 win over Hamilton Accies.
Not a great deal else is known about our apparent interest in the Australia international, but Neil Lennon is known to be a fan having worked with Boyle at Hibs for several seasons.
But whether or not the Celtic support are also fans of the former Dundee man remains in question. The reaction to the report was rather mixed with some happy to see the club looking to add another winger.

Celtic fans would soon warm to Boyle in similar fashion to Hayes
That small sample of replies gives a snapshot of the views the Celtic support are likely to hold if we follow through in a move for Boyle.
The Hibernian winger is undoubtedly one of the better players outwith ourselves in the league.
However, the perceived poor standard of the majority of the Premiership is always likely to weigh on the mind of some supporters.
They will reckon that a club our size should be looking around the world for talent, rather than just across the M8.
Boyle wouldn’t be a game changing signing but he would be a pretty reliable one. He’d be unlikely to flop and falter or take time to get up to speed like Marian Shved has done.
He’d be a very similar signing to Jonny Hayes back in 2017. The former Aberdeen man has gone on to become a pretty decent player for us given his natural ability and where signed him from.
The hope would be that Boyle could do similar if he came to Parkhead.
If he gave his all and produced a bit of quality on a regular basis, the disgruntled fans would soon be on his side.
