Celtic’s star striker Odsonne Edouard took to Twitter on Thursday evening with a short video which featured the player touching the badge on the recently released Hoops strip.

The video seemed to have been filmed during the summer, most likely in an advert to publicise the new commercial partnership with Adidas.

Started new season in fine form

The clip, which only lasted seven seconds, still managed to attract plenty of reactions from the Celtic support. That is no surprise, as Edouard is arguably Celtic’s best player, and started the new season in fine form, scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over Hamilton.

Edouard scored 27 goals last season, and was well on his way to a 30 goal campaign before the season was brought to a premature end.

Some supporters that reacted to the Tweet are hopeful that Edouard’s clip is an indication that the player will sign a new deal with the Hoops.

That might be a bit of a reach after watching such a short clip. However, it would be a gigantic boost for Celtic if Edouard signed a new deal with the club.

New deal would guarantee player’s future

It would all but guarantee that the striker would remain at the club to lead the charge for 1o in a row, unless the Hoops received a ridiculously large transfer fee.

As yet, Edouard has yet to sign a new deal. However, that has not stopped some Celtic fans from hoping that a deal is signed sooner rather than later.

One fan implored the Frenchman to ‘sign new contract now please’, whilst another declared the clip a ‘hint’ that the player would become Celtic’s latest number seven.
