Olivier Ntcham’s goal against St Johnstone yesterday was certainly a welcome sight.
The Frenchman didn’t take long to make his mark after coming on for Ryan Christie. Ntcham scored with his first touch as he rifled home a sizzling finish with his left-foot in at Zander Clark’s near post. It put us 5-0 ahead on the day, before Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths completed the rout.

And after what’s been a tiring summer regarding Ntcham, the goal was a boost for everyone. The former Manchester City man was a star in Estonia last week against Nomme Kalju. His goal against Saints, however, only continued his recent renaissance.
But what did sections of the support think of Ntcham’s cameo display overall? Here’s a look at the reaction on social media.

Ntcham’s goal exactly what the doctor ordered
Well, just how big will that moment prove to be? Ntcham’s goal was a solid sign of him starting to show what he’s all about once again.
The biggest concern after the summer saga was that Ntcham didn’t come back and perform. That his head would go down and the tools would be downed with it. Given his attitude and performances last season, that hardly looked unlikely.

But Ntcham has come back with a real point to prove. You can debate whether we’ll sell him before the transfer window is over or not, but the truth is that only by good performances will Ntcham manage to earn any move.
If Neil Lennon has managed to get into his head and see what’s what, then superb. He’ll be a valuable addition if he continues in the same matter he has over the past week.

That’s all Celtic fans are asking for from him – that he gives it his all when he’s out on the field. Failure to do so won’t be accepted at Celtic Park, and it looks as though Ntcham now realises that.
His goal yesterday helped smooth things over a tad. Not completely, just a little. He still has plenty of work to do to win over many others in the support. But yesterday was a good start for him in just his second outing of the season.
