Some Celtic fans react to Patryk Klimala's display on first start for the club
Some Celtic fans have given the thumbs up on Patryk Klimala after his first-ever start for the club on Sunday afternoon.
The Polish forward had come off the bench three times prior to today’s Scottish Cup encounter away to Clyde but was trusted by Neil Lennon for the first time to lead our attack.
It was a massive opportunity for the player, getting 75 minutes under his belt before being replaced by Vakoun Bayo.
He’ll have been disappointed to miss a golden chance one-on-one with the Clyde goalkeeper in the first half but overall fans saw signs of a player that can eventually make a big impact at the Hoops.
In difficult conditions at Broadwood, he managed to link up well with his teammates at times, also showing good pace and movement off the ball.
It was his flick-on at a corner that allowed captain Scott Brown to score Celtic’s second goal in a 3-0 victory, registering his first assist.
He also coped decently with the physical nature of the Clyde defence, dusting himself down from a few meaty challenges and persevering.
The performance was far from a blow away one but it was a decent first start and no doubt the minutes played coupled with the confidence of his manager will allow him to progress further now.
These fans took to Twitter today to share their thoughts after a first real glimpse at the 21-year-old…
Liked the look of Klimala today, good movement and pace. Not a day for strikers with all the play staying with the supporting 3.

I think Klimala will turn out to be a decent signing for Celtic, I have never had the same feeling about Bayo

It’s a shame Klimala never got off the mark with that one on one, but he’s linked up well with his teammates in hellish conditions.

People already saying negative stuff about Klimala, you go out there in that weather and on that pitch and see what you can do, his link up play has been good, has the speed and got the assist for the broony goal..
