Celtic scooped the League Cup in crazy circumstances against Rangers on Sunday afternoon. The Hoops were battered and bruised by the Ibrox side but yet still came out with the silverware.

The game had everything including red cards, yellow cards, big tackles and controversial goals. However, it also had a penalty which Rangers hit-man Alfredo Morelos missed to get the equaliser.

Rangers ruing Alfredo Morelos Celtic penalty chance

The Gers should have been walking out of Hampden at least 5-1 victors after the final. They spurned chance after chance with Morelos right at the heart of it all with his eight or nine misses.

Fraser Forster was having the game of his life, stopping everything that Rangers threw at him.

Suddenly, a quick tactical change seen the Hoops take the lead through controversial circumstances.

Unfortunately, the joy was short lived as the Gers could have got right back into the final. Star man Jeremie Frimpong had to take Morelos down in the box and was rightfully sent off.

In his 11th match without a goal, this was Morelos’ end of the Mighty Ducks moment to get his goal against Celtic at last. The Colombian striker, well in form, still couldn’t beat Forster from 12 yards as he missed the spot-kick.

Hoops fans react to the penalty miss video

There were calls for the Rangers fans to upload the many videos that were taken of the incident. It all went quiet until one was leaked out last night to the jubilation of the Celtic support.

The comments started flooding in of the Hoops fans poking fun at their fierce rivals.
