Celtic boss Neil Lennon claimed, as reported by the Glasgow Times following the 2-1 Champions League qualifier loss to Ferencvaros on Wednesday night, that some players who are currently at the club want to leave the Hoops.

Lennon’s comments were a big deal, especially coming on the back of such a dreadful defeat. However, his point may have been proved correct.

Sky Sports reported on Thursday that the agents of Celtic duo Oliver Ntcham and Kristoffer Ajer – who both started in loss to Ferencvaros – have asked the Hoops of valuations of the players, ahead of what could be their exits in the current transfer window.

The story was also reported by Sky Sports news editor Anthony Joseph on social media.

It will be interesting to see how Celtic respond to this report. If the players want to leave, it is probably better to get them out of the club sooner than later.

Duo have played key role in Hoops success

However, the duo have more than played a part in Celtic’s unprecedented domestic success in reason seasons. It also might not be easy to replace two important players in the current transfer window, even though it does not shut until October.

If you look at the reaction of some Celtic fans on social media to the report, then they seem to be in favour of the pair leaving the club if they are not committed.

That reaction makes sense, as with 10 in a row on the line, Celtic need everyone to be pushing together in what is a massive season for the club.

“Get the biggest amount possible”

One fan on social media responding to the report claimed that the duo ‘aren’t exactly irreplaceable’. Another fan wanted the players to leave the club ‘the sooner the better’.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the report about the Celtic duo and their future with the club:
