The Celtic support are today mourning the departure of Scott Sinclair as he departs for Preston North End. The Englishman made an immense impact in his three-and-a-half years in Glasgow – scoring a total of 62 goals and helping us to ten domestic trophies in-a-row.

But perhaps one of the most memorable, and thought provoking, parts of Sinclair’s reign at Celtic was his ‘Beautiful, Magical’ song. Celtic fans christened the tune early in his first season at the club, putting their own words to Supertramp’s hit ‘The Logical Song’.

And, as some fans came to grips with the fact that the song would be leaving along with Sinclair, they took to Twitter to share in the sadness.

Sinclair song is a reminder of a glorious season

Sinclair’s time at the club had been up for a while if we’re brutally honest. But that still doesn’t make it easier to see another one of our fabled ‘Invincible’ team move on. The 2016/2017 season was the peak for many younger Celtic fans and it’s always difficult seeing that team effectively gone now.

Sinclair was a frustrating player during his second and third seasons but he gave us a hell of a lot of good memories. From his numerous goals against Rangers, to Anderlecht away and winning the title against Hearts – he really did contribute a lot.

And the echoes of his song will remind many of a glorious time under Brendan Rodgers. Sadly now the Northern Irishman is away and it’s only really Scott Brown, James Forrest and Callum McGregor remaining as first-team starters from that amazing team.

We could really do with another top song for one of our current stars. But I’m sure the various fans groups will be working hard as we speak.
