Celtic starlet Jeremie Frimpong was one of the few players on social media who has commented in the aftermath of the Hoops’ poor performances against Rangers and Milan.
Usually you get players coming out and making brief statements or posting photos on Twitter on Instagram after the games, but perhaps sensibly that didn’t happen this week. However, Frimpong did Tweet on Friday night, the day after the Milan defeat and ahead of what looks to be a massive game for Celtic at Aberdeen on Sunday.
Made comment after poor week
The Tweet didn’t really say much, as it was only a three word call to arms with a picture of the team which started against Milan.
“We go again” was Frimpong’s statement on social media.
Okay, that doesn’t really say much, but it is good to see that thoughts at Celtic are already turning towards the game at Pittodrie, which will be key in Celtic’s attempts to get the season back on track.
Frimpong you have to imagine will be one of the players that start the game for the Hoops. He had a decent game against Milan. Like the rest of the Hoops team he had a much improved second-half when Neil Lennon switched to four at the back.
Therefore, if Lennon sticks with that system against Aberdeen, you would think that Frimpong will start the game at right-back for the team, with licence to get forward as often as he can.
‘Keep the head up’
Back to the Tweet though, and some Celtic fans responded favourably to Frimpong’s remarks. One fan advised the player to ‘keep the head up’. Another claimed that it was ‘exactly the spirit’ that Celtic needed this season.
Frimpong will know though that the real time for talking is on the pitch. Hopefully his comments can help inspire his teammates to pick up a huge three points at Aberdeen.
