Today’s Glasgow derby at Ibrox was postponed on Thursday, but it didn’t stop a Rangers-supporting Twitter account carrying out a hypothetical one.

Indeed, there was a rather bizarre series of “live updates” from the infamous Rangers Radio twitter account today. They were clearly trying to have a bit of fun with the postponement as they mirrored the actual Rangers twitter account with their updates from an imaginary game.

Oh, and surprise surprise Rangers actually won it 5-1. Turns out Odsonne Edouard put us 1-0 ahead before a series of goals from the likes of Joe Aribo, Ryan Kent, and Alfredo Morelos turned the game around.

The reason we bring this to your attention? Some Celtic fans have been having their own fun with it. Have a look at some of the reaction to today’s imaginary Glasgow derby:

A tad optimistic perhaps?

If today’s derby was going to end in a 5-1 scoreline, you’ll do well to find many who would’ve believed it was going to be in favour of the Ibrox club.

There’s some good banter here to be fair. You can’t take it too seriously even if it is just fantasy from a Rangers perspective. It’s clear the hammerings we’ve given them over the years have certainly got to whoever tweeted this mental series of “updates”.

They did get one thing right – Edouard looked a cert to get on the scoresheet today if the game went ahead. He and Leigh Griffiths together up top looked like a salivating prospect, and it’s disappointing we haven’t had the chance to see them combine in Govan.

With a bit of luck, we do get to see this game go ahead for real and not on fantasy island. With no end to the current health crisis in sight, however, it’s looking more and more optimistic that we will.

However, one thing’s for sure after today, made up games certainly won’t be the way forward if we’re in this position for the long-term!

So in the made-up derby that took place in Rangers Radio’s minds, we ended up losing 5-1. Pigs have also been spotted flying whilst hell has frozen over. What would the score have been today had we played the game for real? Let us know in the comments below.
