Some Rangers fans fuming as Kevin Clancy given Celtic vs Kilmarnock

In an apparently absolutely scandalous move, SFA referee Kevin Clancy has been given Celtic vs Kilmarnock this Sunday (SFA).

Yes, the SFA believed we needed extra help with this one to secure three points. Or at least that’s what some would have you think with their rage at Clancy being given the fixture.

This all stems from the Glasgow derby match at Celtic Park on December 29th. The 2-1 defeat to Rangers saw Celtic get a penalty which was a stonewaller and Rangers fail to get a penalty shout of their own. I know – the lunacy of it.

And it seems that some of our rivals can’t believe that Clancy is once again involved in a Celtic game – his third in three months.

Where do you even begin?

It’s difficult to know what it is these Rangers fans think they’re spotting here. Clancy has refereed 26 games this season. Five of them have involved Celtic. Two of his last 13 have involved the Hoops too (Soccerbase). It’s not like he’s being sent to Parkhead every second week.

And even if he was – does that somehow lean towards conspiracy? Let’s go with that crazy logic for a minute. The laughable idea that someone at the SFA is pulling the strings in a pro-Celtic way is mental, but let’s pretend they are. Has someone really spotted home games against the likes of St Mirren, St Johnstone, Ross County, and Kilmarnock as games when we need our main man Clancy involved?

Couldn’t we have had the clear pro-Celtic Clancy when we went to Livingston? How about when we went to Hibs? Oh wait – he WAS in charge of that one. Remember he denied us two stonewall penalties to end our 100% record?

Some rival fans like to just forget about that one. The same goes for the corner they got at Parkhead that led to their second goal which shouldn’t have been given.

It’s childish discourse, and quite honestly tiresome at this point. We don’t need any sort of referee help to beat the likes of Kilmarnock at Celtic Park. If someone is trying to give us a hand at Hampden, they could certainly be doing a better job of it.

We all know the truth though – it’s all 100% garbage.
