Celtic returned to long-awaited domestic action this week after a two-week international break that has the supporters waiting to see their heroes in the green and white hoops again.
Whilst there was Celtic interest in the internationals, with ten players on duty for their country, nothing beats watching our players turn on the style domestically as we go head-to-head with Rangers for the Scottish Premiership title.
And in a devastating second-half display at Livingston, that’s exactly what Brendan Rodgers’ side did. A Livingston own-goal opened the scoring with Paulo Bernardo and Matt O’Riley adding one a piece to cap a good 3-0 away win.
But it was what Bernardo did that made the SPFL tweet out a tribute to the Celtic midfielder after he netted his fourth goal of the season.
Taking to social media channel X, The SPFL have posted Bernarndo’s goal with this superb caption:
Bernardo has been flitting in and out of Celtic’s team recently and his appearance yesterday was his 26th of the season with nine of those coming from the bench.
Brendan Rodgers has been preferring Tomoki Iwata of late and to be fair to the Japan international, he has been doing well in his most recent starts.

However, Bernardo has done his case for a starting berth soon no harm with his performance and goal yesterday and whilst he is unlikely to start against Rangers on Sunday, he does provide Rodgers with a good option from the bench.
The Glasgow Derby is the biggest game of the season so far and Rodgers will be looking to keep up his impressive record over Rangers with another Celtic win this week.
Having players like Bernardo at his disposal only enhances his chances and with Callum McGregor close to a return to first-team action, Celtic are looking really strong heading towards the Ibrox game.
