“Spouts rubbish”, “If he was on the Chase…”; Aberdeen fans appear to be raging after defeat to Celtic

Celtic fans welcomed a new interim manager today, and Aberdeen may be the next to do so.

Dons fans were left raging after another narrow loss to the Bhoys. Edouard’s deflected shot made the difference. Like the previous meeting 10 days ago, Aberdeen were knocking at the door, but couldn’t find a way through.

It’s left Aberdeen supporters righteously angry. If ever there was a season to take points off Celtic, it was this one. Fan disillusionment with Derek McInnes is turning to outright anger, and it’d be surprising if McInnes was still in the post beyond the summer.

These are changed days from when Rangers nearly signed McInnes, only to describe him as not “concomitant” [Scotsman], with a bit of language that would give Noam Chomsky pause for thought. Instead, the ex-Rangers player is fighting to hold on in the North-East, with goals coming in scarce numbers and defeats piling up.

Some of the imagery will be very familiar to Celtic supporters. In a season full of “Lennon Out” discourse, we feel a tinge of solidarity with Aberdeen fans here. It’s incredibly frustrating trying to air out grievances over social media rather than in the stands.

Both Celtic and Aberdeen supporters haven’t had that catharsis this season. So, far from gloating, we hear you, Dons fans. For as much as it’ll matter to you, granted.

Quiz-show comparisons, blowtorch discourse: Aberdeen fans angry after Celtic defeat

In fairness to the Dons fans, this is some quite decent patter.

Clearly, they’re not a very happy bunch just now:
