Former Celtic treble winner Stiliyan Petrov has told the Hoops board that they need to appoint their new manager quickly.
The Hoops will presumably be looking to reveal their new boss after the Scottish Cup Final, and Petrov hopes that the process is concluded swiftly.
“They can’t afford to waste time” Petrov said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“Give reassurance to the fans”
“A quick and clear decision would give reassurance to the fans and to whoever gets the job that they will get the support and time to rebuild.”

Petrov’s words will be firmly agreed with by the Hoops support. With the Champions League qualifiers less than two months away, there is no time to waste.
Big rebuilding job ahead

The other factor to consider is the rebuilding job that the Hoops need to do in the summer.
Plenty of players could be on their way out of the club. The new manager needs time to deal with that.
There will no doubt be plenty of speculation about the identity of the next permanent manager in the days to come. Celtic can’t do anything about that.
The most important thing this week is that Neil Lennon and the side prepare for the Scottish Cup Final. Announcing a new manager before that could be a distraction.
As soon as the cup final is over though, the Hoops can begin the process of revealing the identity of the new boss. They don’t have much time to lose.
