Celtic defender Stephen Welsh is thrilled with life under Ange Postecoglou, believing he is becoming a better player with his guidance.
Welsh has been given big responsibility and has played a regular role in Postecoglou’s side in the early stages of the season.
With the arrival of players such as Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers, competition has increased.

But the young defender, who was recently made Scotland U21 captain, is relishing the continued opportunities under the Greek-Australian.
Speaking to The Sunday Post [12/09 print edition, Post Match supplement page 4] he said: “For me personally, it’s business as usual at Celtic. I just want to try to play as many games as possible.
“We’ve got a few quality new players in the door, and we’ve got competition for places. Signing a few new boys has meant the quality has risen.
“The new manager has helped me a lot. On the ball and off the ball, he’s been a big help. He’s given me my opportunity again, and I need to prove I deserve it.
“There’s no hiding away from the fact that losing at Ibrox was disappointing, but I came away with Scotland to Turkey and was fully focused with them. Now I’ll be concentrating on Celtic again.”
Welsh found himself on the outside looking in against Ross County yesterday. So he’ll be desperate to impress in training and win a place back in the team on Thursday or Sunday.

Cameron Carter-Vickers could be hard to shift but, for me, Welsh has a decent chance of muscling out Starfelt over time.
However, Christopher Jullien is also due to return from injury over the coming weeks, so Welsh will have even more competition.
Still, he’s getting a good amount of football and can be happy with his progress. He certainly sounds at ease working under the manager and long may it continue.
