Celtic will be keen to ensure they build on their recent momentum by seeing off Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena this weekend.

Brendan Rodgers has already revealed who may be available for the tie after a recent interview with Gerry McCulloch suggested that Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, and club captain Callum McGregor are all set to return from injury.

He stated: “I think the three players mentioned there are obviously hugely influential players for the team. So, it will be great to have them back and available.”

Republic of Ireland international Liam Scales could also make his comeback this weekend; however, we will need to wait and see what Rodgers says in his pre-match press conference.

One does wonder from the outside what the atmosphere is like in the Celtic dressing room just now as the Bhoys look to bring home what would be a third successive league title.

In the Scottish Cup, we also still have the chance to experience glory, though we will need to navigate past Aberdeen in the last four before a potential showpiece final against Heart of Midlothian or Rangers at Hampden.

Resolve will need to be shown in the final matches of the campaign; however, there is a strong bond among this group of men that can hopefully see us over the line once all is said and done.

Stephen Welsh on the dynamic in the Celtic dressing room

Despite being only 24, Celtic defender Stephen Welsh has gained a lot of know-how since breaking into the senior side in 2021, making 64 appearances for his boyhood club, registering four goals and one assist [Transfermarkt].

The Coatbridge-born man is probably one of the more experienced men within Rodgers’ group, even with his age, and has shed light on what life is really like in the Parkhead dressing room, complimenting the balance between young talent and established senior players.

Welsh stated [The Daily Record]: “I was 24 not long ago, they’re making me feel old! Having good experience in the team as well as youth is a good combination. I still feel like one of the young players; there are a few older boys!

“But when there are a few younger players coming through you need to make them feel welcome and make sure they are up to the standards in training as well. From what I can see, the lads have been really good.”

Celtic have a core of players who have delivered silverware in the past and they will be expected to take a leading role as we hit the final stretch of the campaign.

For those who haven’t been in the door for too long, they can take inspiration from key figures such as McGregor and Carter-Vickers, who won’t let standards drop for a second in our pursuit of a domestic double.
