Eyebrows will have bee raised when Steve Clarke called up Celtic winger Lewis Morgan.
Hoops fan Robert Snodgrass dropped out late before last night’s match against San Marino.
Morgan is having a season of two halves so far which makes the feature more surprising. However, it appears Clarke sees a potential future of some sorts with Morgan.
Lewis Morgan hopes are boosted but will it show with Celtic?
The former St Mirren man appeared to be a popular fellow for Neil Lennon in the early season.

He started or came on in every game up until the last month or so.
However, Forrest maintains his spot on the right and it’s been a toss up for the left side. The signing of Mohamed Elyounoussi is making it even more difficult for Morgan to feature in the team.
Nevertheless, Clarke’s recent call into the Scotland side shows where he is.
Clarke’s clearly been pleased with Morgan’s showings for Celtic and will want to see what he can bring to Scotland. Some Celtic fans have made their minds up on him but Clarke is deservedly giving him his very short opportunity for a quick look.

The majority of the recent calls have been all about seeing who should be in the big play-off match squad.
Can the winger challenge the Hoops mainstay?
One man some Hoops fans will say needs a bit of a break is James Forrest. He is another Scotland international call who featured in Clarke’s latest squad.
Forrest appears consistently for club and country and this season isn’t any different.

He’s been bursting the net in the early season but the goals and performances have dried up recently.
Perhaps it will be in Lennon’s mind to give Forrest a rest this Saturday at home to Ross County. Maybe Morgan would be the one to step in on his natural right side compared to the left where he moonlighted.
With a Forrest rest and rebirth it will only spell good things for the Hoops in future.
