James Forrest has warned Sarajevo and any other potential Champions League opponents that Celtic will improve as they get more games under their belt.

Celtic opened their Champions League campaign with a 3-1 win at Sarajevo. Forrest has revealed that the Hoops won’t anything for granted going into the second leg.

“Nobody in the squad thinks it’s done”

“Nobody in the squad thinks it’s done. The last thing we want to do is go into the second leg and produce a laboured performance” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“We will be stronger and fitter after the Rennes game on Saturday and another week of training” he concluded.

The friendly against Rennes will be intriguing. Neil Lennon could opt to give many of his starters a rest ahead of the second leg against Sarajevo.

Determined not to let up

That could mean no place in the side for Forrest. However, he sounds determined to make sure that the Hoops don’t let up in their quest to reach the Champions League group stages.

There is still a long way to go in that process. However, it does bode well for the games to come that the Hoops so comfortably came from a goal behind to defeat Sarajevo.

The next qualifying round opponents – likely to be Shkendija – will do doubt provide a sterner test. But it is has been a good start to the qualifying campaign, and Forrest sounds eager for that to continue.
