Hearts have changed their manager and signed nine players since Celtic ripped the title from their hands.

Derek McInnes, Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin have all left for Rangers since May. Findlay remains at Tynecastle, and so does the pain of what Celtic did to Hearts.

Stuart Findlay admits Celtic defeat still haunts him

Findlay has admitted he is still not over Hearts losing the title to Celtic. He even revealed that he lies in bed thinking about the day it all fell apart.

Findlay told The Scottish Sun, “When you look at the teams we could have got, and who we could get if we win this one, you realise your achievements put you alongside some top clubs across Europe.

“You don’t have to tell me how disappointing last year was. I’d be lying if I said I’m completely over it — that’s not the case.

“Sometimes you lie in your bed and think about that day at Celtic.

“But I’m hoping once the season kicks off with these games that in the future we’ll look at how successful we were last year, how incredible a run it was.

“We’re rewarded with these massive games — Hearts fans want to be watching their team in this competition.

“They don’t want to be watching League Cup group stage games and hopefully we can put on performances to be proud of just as we did last year.”

Hearts were three minutes away from becoming champions, and Findlay is still replaying the moment Celtic took it away in his head.
