Celtic are likely to face a centre-back overhaul this summer. Filip Benkovic is set to return to Leicester City, whilst Dedryck Boyata’s contract is running down, with no new deal agreed.
There also has to be doubt over the future of Jack Hendry and Marvin Compper. That leaves Jozo Simunovic and Kristoffer Ajer as likely to be at the club next season.
The Hoops therefore, will need to add new centre-backs in the summer. One player who should be under consideration is a man who is starring in the Premiership – Kilmarnock’s Stuart Findlay.

Failed to make breakthrough
Findlay started his career at Celtic, but was unable to make the breakthrough, and ended up at the Rugby Park side.

He has been a stand-out performer for Steve Clarke’s side. Findlay has made 26 appearances this season, and is a big reason why Killie have conceded only 27 goals this season.
He most recently showed his qualities with a man of the match display in Kilmarnock’s 1-0 win over St Mirren.

Continuation of policy
Some Celtic fans might be underwhelmed by the prospect of signing a player from Scotland. However, buying players from teams in Scotland is something Celtic have done for decades.
Also, Neil Lennon will be well-aware of Findlay’s qualities, he worked with the player in his first spell with the club.
It remains to be seen who Celtic will bring to the club in the summer. When it comes to centre-backs though, they would do well to look no further than Findlay.
