Former Celtic summer transfer target and young midfielder Dylan Reid has completed a move to English Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The 17-year-old’s club, St Mirren, confirmed the move this evening after fighting off interest for the youngster in recent years.
Teams from across Europe, including the likes of Benfica and Bayern Munich, were previously linked with moves for the Scotland under-17 international.
Celtic had also been showcasing an interest in the St Mirren academy product, with the first reports of the Hoops supposed interest coming around three years ago.
Last summer, the Bhoys looked to make a move for the talented midfielder, and at one stage, it looked as though Reid might join the Bhoys setup.
Ange Postecoglou was even asked to comment about the interest and stated that it was more of a focus for the club’s B side [Sun Sport].
However, the move ultimately didn’t come off, with Reid instead choosing to remain at St Mirren and potentially earning more first-team minutes at this stage of his career.
Interest in the youngster began to rise again in the January transfer window. But this time, it was from English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

It brings to an end any interest Celtic might have had in adding the Scottish midfielder to their ranks after pushing for a move last summer.
With the strength and depth that there currently is in the Celtic midfield, Reid would have had a tough task breaking into the first-team plans at this moment in time.
The Bhoys also have some talented options coming through in that area, with the likes of Ben Summers featuring in training.
It was good to see the Hoops continue to try and add talent to the academy setup. But a move didn’t seem likely to come off after initial interest.
