Chris Sutton has pondered the possibility that Celtic boss Neil Lennon was aware of tonight’s scoreline at Ibrox in the dying minutes of our match at Livingston.

The Hoops rescued a late draw in West Lothian to, amazingly, stretch our lead at the top of the table to 13 points with just nine games to go.

That was after Steven Gerrard’s hapless side lost to Hamilton Accies – who started the evening in 12th – 1-0 at home.

That turned what was a largely frustrating night in Livi into a really good one. And it all made for a hectic few closing minutes as everyone tried to get a grasp of what was going on.

And speaking on BT Sport‘s live coverage of the game, Sutton pondered whether Lennon was aware of goings on in Govan as he gestured to his team to keep it tight at 2-2.

“Well I just wonder whether Neil Lennon knows Rangers are still losing,” Sutton said as the Gers trailed 1-0.

“Celtic want to win the game but this could end up being a very valuable point.

“If you can’t win it, don’t lose it.

Minutes later, deep into stoppage time, Sutton’s fellow co-commentator Stephen Craigan chimed in after Lennon was apparently caught on camera finding out the Ibrox score.

Craigan said: “See Neil Lennon, you could read his lips. He said ‘What, Hamilton?’

“So I reckon he may have just got the message that Hamilton are winning at Ibrox.”

It will take a lot of time for this evening to make sense

It was a dramatic night that will take a few hours, and maybe days, to process.

But the facts are that we’re closer to nine in-a-row than we were when we woke up this morning.

We’re a point further ahead, with one less game to go for both ourselves and Rangers.

And we’ve navigated one of our toughest matches of the run in – albeit away from home.

The reason for Lennon’s ‘concentrate’ message is unclear. Perhaps he did know the Rangers score. Perhaps he was just happy to get out of Livingston with a point.

Perhaps it was in reaction to how we went gung-ho after scoring against Copenhagen a week ago.

Whatever the case, it’s all a little irrelevant really.

Celtic are looking good to win another title. The finishing line is firmly in our sights.

That’s all that matters.
