Chris Sutton reckons Neil Lennon’s extremely positive post-match interviews are a sign that he is aware of what’s happening at Rangers.
The Celtic boss spoke about his admiration for his side, despite them only grabbing a point through a late Tom Rogic goal in Livingston.
“I thought we were brilliant,” Lennon said to the BBC.
“Against a difficult opponent, on a difficult pitch, we were absolutely outstanding.
“They are a magnificent group of players and it’s a privilege for me to manage them.”
Some Hoops fans may have been a little surprised to see their manager speak to positively despite dropped points again in West Lothian.
But Sutton thinks there’s method to Lennon’s thoughts.
“I think he’s making a conscious effort,” the former Hoops striker said on BT Sport‘s post-match coverage.
“Because Steven Gerrard has come out in recent months and chucked his players under the bus.
“No matter what the result, Neil Lennon, I think he is realising what is going on across the city and saying, regardless of the result, I’m gonna back my players.”

Believe it or not, Sutton may be on to something.
Let’s get things straight. Celtic weren’t “brilliant” last night. We probably couldn’t even consider ourselves good, truth be told.
It was a mediocre performance against a good side. But it’s the result that matters most.
The fact we managed to grab that late goal and extend our lead at the top, despite visiting our bogey ground, means that the night can only be viewed positively.
So what use would there be in Lennon berating his players?
He’s shown his experience as a boss again, while Gerrard continues to destroy his side’s confidence virtually every time they enter the playing field.
Lennon is smarter, and more mature, than a lot of people give him credit for.
