Former Celtic star Chris Sutton has reminded the big talkers at Ibrox that they’ve dropped as many points as the reigning champions so far this season, writing in his Daily Record column today.
Neil Lennon’s team return to action today against Ross County and hopefully see it as an opportunity to move on from a dramatic opening period of the season.
An international break has given the manager a chance to take stock of his team and tactics.
My fingers are crossed for a fresh approach.
Given some of the talk over the last few weeks you’d think that Celtic were a club in crisis and Rangers a club on the march.
However, Sutton is quick to point out they’ve dropped points this season too.

As quoted by The Daily Record, the former striker said: “There is no doubt Celtic need to get motoring.
“They have five Premiership games until the next international break and Rangers when they get back.
“There’s been a lot of talk about a gap at the top. But don’t forget Celtic have dropped the same number of points as Steven Gerrard’s side – even if there’s a lot of big talk coming out of Ibrox.
“This is an important spell for Celtic, though, and they need the new faces to get up to speed.”
Ahead of today’s fixture’s Steven Gerrard’s team sit six points ahead but purely because of our postponed matches.
The biggest blow so far was our Champions League exit but in terms of domestic action we’ve barely had a chance to get going, playing just four matches.

Both teams kick-off matches at 3pm so it could be a tense round of fixtures.
However, there is no need to succumb to hype or drama yet and hopefully our new signings can help secure a good win away to Ross County this afternoon.
We have a big opportunity to find consistency now and the champions must deliver.
In other news, Chris Sutton has defended an under fire Celtic star.
