Celtic’s Benjamin Nygren is being talked about once again after a getting on the scoresheet.
Nygren now has 19 goals after his strike in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Aberdeen, comfortably standing as the Hoops’ top scorer.
That’s despite Nygren being in his debut season, and scoring those goals from midfield. He hasn’t been every fan’s cup of tea at all times, but he is increasingly establishing himself as one of Martin O’Neill’s most important players.
This is being picked up on by the media in his homeland of Sweden.

Swedish press hail Benjamin Nygren as Celtic ‘hero’
Fotbolldirekt hailed Nygren as Celtic’s hero, noting that he is closing in on leading the goalscoring charts in the Scottish Premiership.
He is locked in that race with Tawanda Maswanhise of Motherwell who, unlike the Swede, is actually playing as a striker.

Fotbollskanalen claim that rumours have been growing about Premier League interest in Nygren since the winter window.
They quote O’Neill and ex-Aberdeen CEO Keith Wyness to back this up, with the latter claiming that the Hoops ‘wouldn’t have a choice’.
Valencia has been named as a possible destination for the Swede by unverified internet sources in recent days – but before thinking about selling him, Hoops fans will hope that there are more goals in the tank.
Relevant to a Swedish audience is the World Cup play-offs, which will take place later this month.
Nygren and Sweden will face Ukraine in the semi-final, before a potential decider played against Poland or Albania.
Graham Potter is the newly-appointed boss of the country, and Nygren scored their first goal under the Englishman’s watch in a 4-1 defeat to Switzerland.

Benjamin Nygren on his winner for Celtic vs Aberdeen
Speaking to Celtic TV after the game, Nygren said: “Aberdeen is a difficult away game. It was a hard-fought win today. But, in the end I think we deserved that result.
“I’m very happy to be able to contribute to the team, and that is what I want to keep on doing.
“That has always been my mentality since I was a small kid, that when you come off the bench, you want to come in and decide the game.
“Especially when it was 1-1. We needed to get the win, go forward. So, I’m happy to score today.
“It is so many games, but we have been staying together the whole season, and we will continue to do that.”
