Northampton Town manager Jon Brady has said the sight of Ange Postecoglou doing so well at Celtic has given him a massive personal boost as he continues an impressive upward trajectory managing in England.
Brady has worked his way through the English pyramid system and is the only Australian managing in the country. He’s now in charge of Northampton, who are eyeing promotion to English League One from the fourth-tier this season.
And he’s taking inspiration from the work of Postecoglou in Glasgow, feeling his journey at the Bhoys can be an inspiration to Australians everywhere.

Speaking to Optus Sport, Brady said: “I think the biggest thing that’s given me a bit of a lift is Ange Postecoglou over at Celtic. I think it’s great to see an Australian manager doing so well.
“He played a brilliant brand of football in Japan and I think he’s now ridden through a tough period in Glasgow.
“It just shows the grit and determination of the Aussies and what we can do tactically and technically.
“I’m throwing myself into this opportunity and giving it everything I’ve got. If I could get promotion with Northampton this would cap it all off.”
Postecoglou has long been a trailblazer for Australian coaches, but his spell at Celtic is driving that into a new gear. There’s great attention on him from his homeland.
If he can succeed at the Bhoys it’ll inspire a new generation of Aussie managers to follow in his footsteps in Europe. Obviously, if that transpires it’s only a good thing for Celtic.
Let’s hope the former national team manager can become a legend on two continents.
