Celtic fans have taken issue with pundit Tam McManus after he raised questions about striker Odsonne Edouard’s commitment to the club.
He wrote on Twitter: “I love Edouard and I think he is a fantastic footballer. But to say he doesn’t feel ready to play & is tired in the biggest season of Celtic’s history is bollocks. Should be bursting to play in every game & become a legend. Just my opinion. Seems something isn’t quite right?”
Lennon has already addressed the benching of the Frenchman, telling media it was simply because the player needed a rest following international duty and the fact he is still coming back from an injury.
The manager even moved to quash rumours of anything untoward, stating explicitly that Edouard was not causing trouble behind the scenes (Daily Record).

McManus clearly sees the situation differently but his assessment is all wrong to me.
Edouard has never seemed like the kind of player to act out or against Celtic’s interests.
There is absolutely no reason to worry right now. It’s very likely the striker will give everything he’s got to the club until the decision-makers at Celtic Park decide to accept an incoming bid.
Nobody has offered that yet so far in the current transfer window.
Plenty of Celtic fans know this of course and they were quick to put McManus right on Twitter.

Perhaps Edouard will be out to silence the pundit this Sunday when he goes up against McManus’ beloved Hibernian.

Tam. Cmere a minute
If you watched the St Mirren game you would’ve seen Edouard limped off and has a niggling injury he’s playing with a nursing.
Please stop fishing cause it’s embarrassing

“Seems something isn’t quite right.”
That’ll be you Tam!

You’re at it Tam, why risk losing him for longer if the player doesn’t feel fit enough 🤔

Makes perfect sense if a players not 100% why take any risks, wee bit of click bait here

I would rather he got his mind/body right and came back firing on all cylinders than continue to struggle the way he had in his last few matches. Let’s not forget he was injured then came back into full games it’s normal that he broke down a bit.

Can’t be much of a legend if he plays and aggravates an injury he’s recovering from.

He played 3 games in a week right after returning from an injury. You no think that could have something to do with it, big brains? https://t.co/P8YEDveHZ2
