At times, it has been frustrating for the Celtic Park supporters because patience is required with the type of purchases the club brings in.

As Celtic cleans house on the domestic stage, the supporters then want ready-made stars to arrive, so the club can go to the next level, especially on the European stage.

But time and time again, Celtic have continued to search for those gems, and Brendan Rodgers knows that more than anyone else.

Last summer, Celtic showcased why they are so good in the market when they received a club-record transfer for Matt O’Riley.

Yankuba Minteh says Celtic hero Matt O’Riley can play for ‘any club’

Brighton are known to bring in top talents from across Europe, and just like Celtic, go on to sell them for big money.

Highly-rated winger Yankuba Minteh is one of those players, but the 20-year-old wanted to give O’Riley his flowers and how he is such a ‘skilled’ player on the field of play.

Minteh feels that, given the Denmark star’s quality, he has the ability to play for ‘any club he wants’, as he told ViaPlay via PL Bold.

“He (Matt O’Riley) is a good guy, and he is skilled on the pitch,” said Minteh. “He has the talent to play for any club he wants. He is really skilled.

“He was injured at the beginning of the season, so it hasn’t been an easy journey for him. Now he’s back and he’s showing everyone what he can do. He’s skilled and a good guy, both on and off the field.”

O’Riley’s stats for Brighton this season

The unfortunate thing for O’Riley is that he was out for months after just his first game for Brighton, and that didn’t help his cause.

But then O’Riley scored the winner against Manchester City on his Premier League debut months later, so it was worth the wait.

It has come in dribs and drabs, but the Brighton fans are seeing the quality Celtic fans saw week in and week out, with the technically gifted playmaker.
