Celtic have missed their chance to revitalise their 10-in-a-row hopes, according to an ex-Celtic man.
Pundit and Celts legend Chris Sutton tweeted on the final whistle, saying “that’s it”. The Bhoys were hugely unfortunate to have lost at Ibrox, with a daft Nir Bitton tackle and subsequent sending-off ruining everything.
Neil Lennon’s side were all over Rangers. All it took was a moment of madness and lack of defensive awareness to lose the game (BBC).
And, perhaps, the title.
The onus is now back on Neil Lennon, whose squad travel to Dubai for a mid-season training camp. The board have already stated that his future would be discussed in January.
“Celtic played well today, but it’s all about the result”
Chris Sutton is rarely one to mince words, and so his tweet gained immediate traction.
That’s it. Well done to Steven Gerrard and Rangers not even they can blow it this season. Celtic played well today but it’s all about the result. The difference this season is Rangers have an outstanding goalkeeper and a strong defence. Nine out of ten ain’t bad mind…

Rangers look very unlikely to cede a 19 point gap, even with Celtic having 3 games in hand.
Celtic would have to go on an incredible winning streak to keep the pressure on Gerrard’s side, while Rangers would have to lose 4 times to gift the Bhoys the title.
On current form, it just doesn’t look like that elusive 10th title will be coming Celtic’s way. Sutton is probably right in his assessment here; it would take a collapse of truly epic proportions.
Celtic will be wondering how we didn’t win that. All the momentum had been with the Bhoys. Rangers didn’t actually register a shot on target all game, with their goal coming from the unfortunate Callum McGregor.
It’s a heartbreaker for the Bhoys.
