Celtic have agreed a compensation fee with Yokohama F. Marinos for incoming manager Ange Postecoglou, Sky Sports have reported.

The news comes after a long week of speculation and rumour about his suitability for the Celtic role.

Here at 67 Hail Hail, we’ve spoken to journalists in Australia and Japan, as well as provided a platform for the data behind his work at Marinos.

We’re as unsure as many about what the future for Celtic holds under Postecoglou. However, he will have to be backed by supporters if he ends up in the job.

The 55-year-old arrives after decades of experience in Australia and Asia. He’s considered to be one of the greatest ever coaches to come from that side of the world.

However, with no experience of managing on this continent, the appointment is seen as a massive risk.

It’s set to be a wild ride regardless with Postecoglou said to favour chaotic attacking football in the opposition half.

As Celtic fans we’ve called for a change of direction after Neil Lennon. This is certainly that.

We’ll all be keeping our fingers crossed that Postecoglou proves to be the kind of appointment to get excited about.

For now, it’s up to the club and him to prove that.
