Scott Allan says Reo Hatate is the best midfielder in Scotland
For years now, Reo Hatate has controlled the Celtic midfield.
When he’s firing on all cylinders it’s impossible to get near him and he looks a cut above everyone else.
Hatate’s talents aren’t lost on Allan, who believes that the Japan international is the number one midfielder in Scotland.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound, he said: “For me, Reo Hatate is the best midfielder in the country in terms of the creative areas and he’s got the end product to go with it.
“He’s got that through pass that we see time and time again.”
A fit Reo Hatate will win Celtic trophies
We saw in the Scottish Cup final how big a miss Hatate is when he’s unavailable.
A luxury player who sometimes frustrates, his quality is evidently clear and Celtic’s chances of winning improve tenfold when he plays.
Conversations about Hatate’s future have always come up but the midfielder has never left.
Keeping him fit enough to feature in all competitions is going to be a big task but if he is playing, he will be the difference-maker.
