Celtic are locked in a battle to win the Scottish Premiership title that will resume next weekend in our trip to Livingston.
With eight league matches left, the Bhoys sit one point ahead of Rangers; however, they do have a game in hand scheduled for April 10th away to Dundee.
Brendan Rodgers will only have the Livingston game in mind for now despite the looming Glasgow Derby at Ibrox on April 7th, which could be a telling fixture regarding the potential destination of this year’s title.
Of course, there have been plenty of ups and downs during the Irishman’s second spell in charge at Celtic; regardless, we could still walk away with a domestic double once all is said and done.
Encouragingly, the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and Alistair Johnston have entered a rich vein of form at a key time in the season; meanwhile, Rodgers may be able to call upon Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate once the international break is concluded.
Enforced changes due to injury have hampered our ability to field a settled line-up for a sustained period of time this campaign, though that could be about to change as we charge towards the finish line.
Either way, the club have been in this position many times, and it is up to the manager and the players available to make sure we stump our rivals to finish top of the pile.
Gerry Creaney believes Celtic will stand up to title challenge
Former Celtic striker Gerry Creaney believes that his old side will have the mettle to deal with the challenges that lay in wait as we bid to bring a third successive league title to Parkhead.
Given the fact we are also still in contention to win the Scottish Cup, the 53-year-old is confident Rodgers’ men have the resolve required to perform under pressure in the remaining games, which will be crucial in their quest to claim two trophies.

He stated [Cited via The Daily Record]: “I get the impression Celtic have caught their breath again and will push on. There’s only a point between them and Rangers and you’ve a Cup semi-final too.
“It could possibly be an Old Firm Final. What a climax to look forward to at the end of the season. You’ll see different facets and traits coming out of different people when they’re put under a bit more pressure.
“That’s what’s going to happen at this stage. And it’s something, I’m sure, the Celtic players will be more than able to stand up to.”
There isn’t a set formula on how to win a league title; nevertheless, Rodgers won’t be looking further ahead than our trip to face David Martindale’s outfit next weekend before assessing how the landscape lies ahead of the upcoming Glasgow Derby.
Going to Ibrox and claiming some form of result will be critical to our chances; however, honing in on one game at a time has to be the collective attitude from Celtic’s point of view.
