Wilfried Nancy has certainly had his unfair share of criticism during his short spell as the Celtic manager.
One game and one defeat as Celtic’s loss to Hearts kickstarted a bizarre media campaign against Nancy that was bordering on a character assassination of the Hoops boss.
Nancy arrived at Celtic after being spoken about as one of the top coaches ever to have graced the MLS as former colleagues talked up the Frenchman.

And now, to offer some balance to what has been a shocking week of negative nonsense being spouted about the Celtic manager, Motherwell assistant Max Rogers has shared what someone from Real Salt Lake has been telling him about Nancy.

Wilfried Nancy is an ‘exciting appointment’ for Celtic
Celtic fans are uniting behind their manager after this week’s shameful headlines and after what Rogers is about to say, they will look forward to watching his teams more.
Rogers told the Daily Record, “I haven’t come across him directly but I spoke to a good friend of mine, Anthony Pulis, who works out there with Real Salt Lake.
“He spoke very highly of him. I believe Nancy has a very good reputation for coaching and developing teams and players.
“He got success with Columbus and it’s a good, exciting appointment for Scottish football.
“It’s good to have a different face in the Scottish game who can help evolve the game here.
“I’m sure he doesn’t think he’s going to rewrite Scottish football or anything like that.
“But it’s an opportunity for a new fresh face to come in with new ideas.
“We look forward to going up against him.”

Celtic now face Roma in the Europa League where Nancy can deliver a big slap in the face to his critics.

But on top of that, Nancy would have got one over one of the world’s best coaches in Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
Gasperini spoke glowingly of Nancy this week as the world-class coach showed the Celtic manager some respect.
Respect which has not been offered by some in the media, which a win at Celtic Park would instantly prove his doubters wrong.
