Neil Lennon doesn’t appear to be teetering on the edge at Celtic despite our terrible form this season.

As we await Lennon’s next press conference, there’s plenty of rumour and innuendo doing the rounds on social media, as well as from more established sources.

Prominent blogger Phil Mac Giolla Bhain has even stated word has been sent out to multiple managers about potentially replacing Lennon in the dugout.

It’s said by Phil that the representatives of Eddie Howe have been contacted about taking up the job.

The Bournemouth legend is currently out of work after the Cherries’ relegation earlier this year, but his track record on the south coast is extraordinary.

He took that team from the bottom tier of the English league system, right up to the Premier League. The job he did was so impressive that he won the Football League Manager Of The Decade Award.

He would subsequently win three manager of the month awards in the cash-rich top-flight, punching above his weight in terms of resources and squad power.

Howe also has a tactical style suited to Celtic, preferring possession-heavy attacking play rather than a stodgy, defensive shape. High pressing and urgent, hungry defending is how he likes to turn over the ball.

He could just be the man to bring back Premier League standards to Celtic Park.

Some fans are certainly keen, despite the acknowledgement it might be tough to convince him to land in Scottish football with the Bhoys adrift from Rangers at the top of the table.

These supporters have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
