The international break may be upon Ange Postecoglou and the rest of us once again, but there are still some tasty matches for Celtic supporters to keep an eye on over the next week or so.

The Hoops forged a winning spirit against Aberdeen on Sunday, but not every Celtic star can be a winner in every match during the break.

That’s because there are two pretty tasty meetings where Celtic stars will come up against… other Celtic stars.

Scotland vs Israel

The first such clash is on Saturday at the familiar haunt of Hampden Park – where Scotland face Israel for the 49th time since 2018.

Okay, it’s actually just the 7th meeting since then, but that’s pretty good going considering the two had only met three times up until that point. (Fitba Stats)

Featuring on each side are two Celtic players: Callum McGregor and David Turnbull for Scotland, and Nir Bitton and Liel Abada for Israel. Tasty.

The game is on Saturday at 5pm, and is live on Sky Sports.

Japan vs Australia

Then, next Tuesday two of Celtic’s most lovable stars go head to head in the unlikely location of Saitama, Japan.

It’s a big World Cup qualifier between Kyogo Furuhashi’s Japan and Tom Rogic’s Australia.

The Aussies have two wins from two in the group, while Japan have one win and a shock defeat to Oman under their belt.

That match has the peculiar kick-off time of 11:14am (we’re not sure either) in Scotland.

It isn’t currently scheduled to be broadcast on this side of the world.

The likes of Carl Starfelt and Albian Ajeti are also on international duty.

Fingers crossed for no injuries.

In other news, two major Celtic games this month won’t be televised
